PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus are provided to save work time and achieve improved productivity by permitting a rivet supply process and a riveting process to be performed at the same time. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step of supplying rivets to a collector; a step of permitting the rivets to be transferred to a spacing unit through a guide rail; a step of permitting the rivets to be inserted into the grooves formed at a guide plate by a stopper; a step of returning the guide plate to the original position, and permitting a single rivet to be dropped to the fixing member of an auxiliary transfer unit; a step of permitting the rivet fixing members mounted on a table to move; a step of permitting the compression members of a transfer unit to be dropped to the guide plate; a step of permitting the compression member to compress the rivet disposed on the guide plate by a solenoid; a step of returning the compression member to the original position; a step of moving the transfer unit to the table; a step of spacing apart the compression members from each other by a cylinder; a step of lowering the compression members and permitting the compression members to fix the rivet to the rivet fixing member; a step of permitting the compression member and an auxiliary supply unit to rise and return to their original positions; a step of moving the rivet fixing members disposed on the table to their original positions; a step of making the spacing between the compression sections narrow; a step of returning the transfer unit to its original position; a step of stacking products; a step of transferring the table to the riveting unit; a step of performing a riveting process; a step of returning the table to its original position; and a step of extracting products.
