PURPOSE: A power saving method of hot rolled strip cooling facility is provided to obtain uniformed structure of strip by minimizing power consumption of cooling facility for injecting cooling water and constantly maintaining injection quantity of cooling water, thereby improving cooling efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The power saving method of hot rolled strip cooling facility comprises the steps of opening a valve by satisfying operating conditions for cooling the hot rolled strip(15); sensing level of cooling water reduced according to injection of cooling water as the valve is opened; starting or stopping pumps(8) by operation of an inverter(5) by receiving control signal from SCC (supervisory control computer)(1) in case that the level of the cooling water is lower or higher than a set value; and operating a pump circuit breaker(6) so that the valve is closed, and the pumps are stopped at the same time in case that the hot rolled strip does not pass through run out table, wherein the pumps operated by the inverter are at least two or more of pumps.
