INTEGRATED REMOTE CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD

PURPOSE: An integrated remote control apparatus and method are provided to easily control an integrated remote controller by simultaneously controlling certain functions that can be controlled simultaneously of an electronic device without a necessity of setting a corresponding mode. CONSTITUTION: A button unit(101) includes multiple buttons controlled by a user. A controller(102) controls to transmit a remote control signal to first to nth units(110_1-110_n) when the user controls an arbitrary button. If the button is controlled to be pressed for more than a certain time, the controller recognizes that a corresponding function is to be integratedly controlled. The controller reads a corresponding code stored in a memory according to the recognition. The controller controls a remote control signal transmitting unit(104) to transmit a remote control signal corresponding to the code information. The remote control signal transmitting unit(104) transmits the remote control signal to the first to nth units(110_1-110_n). Remote control signal receiving units(111_1-111_n) receives the remote control signal from the remote control signal transmitting unit(104). The received remote control signal is transmitted to controllers(112_1-112_n). The controllers(112_1-112_n) check whether a code corresponding to the received remote control signal has been registered in memory units(113_1-113_n). If the code has been in the memory units(113_1-113_n), the controllers(112_1-112_n) controls function performing units(114_1-114_n) to perform a corresponding function.
