ASPHALT COMPOSITION AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A modified asphalt composition with improved dimensional stability to heat, low temperature properties, and weatherability is provided, thereby having an improved waterproofness in various construction fields such as bridge decks, modified asphalt sealants, rooftops and the like. CONSTITUTION: The asphalt composition is prepared by: mixing 40-50 wt% of a molten straight asphalt with 10-35 wt% of a TPO(thermoplastic polyolefin) synthetic resin; maintaining the mixture at a temperature of 170-200 deg.C for about 90 minutes with stirring to homogeneously convert the phase having a size of 8 micrometers or less; injecting 5-30 wt% of a filler and 0.1-0.4 wt% of a stabilizer at 170-190 deg.C and stirring the mixture for homogeneous dispersion; and removing bubbles therefrom.
