METHOD FOR GUIDING CROSS STREET PATH IN NAVIGATION SYSTEM USING MOBILE TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A method for guiding a cross street path in a navigation system using a mobile terminal is provided to indicate an accurate direction by displaying another path in a cross street area as well as a progress direction on a screen when guiding the cross street path. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal inputs current location information and destination information, and transmits current location information and destination information to an information center through a mobile communication network(S100). The information center retrieves a driving path between a current location and a destination on the basis of previously stored map data(S101). The information center generates path guidance data for guiding at least one or more node points on the optimal driving path(S102), and judges whether a cross street exists on the path of the generation path guidance data(S103). If the cross street exists, the information center retrieves a peripheral map of the corresponding cross street and generates cross street guidance data according to the retrieved peripheral map(S104). The information center transmits the generated cross street guidance data together with the path guidance data through the mobile communication network(S105). The information center guides information in voice according to the path guidance data and the cross street guidance data for passing the node point and driving a car before the car passes the node point(S106-S111).
