PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing chlorella containing highly unsaturated fatty acid, by culturing chlorella in the presence of EPA and DHA to allow the intake of EPA and DHA in high concentration. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing chlorella containing highly unsaturated fatty acid is characterized by culturing chlorella in a medium containing an EPA compound and other highly unsaturated fatty acid compounds, wherein the highly unsaturated fatty acid compounds including the EPA compounds are of the alkylester type characteristically; and the EPA compound is absorbed into the chlorella prior to the others.
