PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal ink transfer sheet which shows an excellent suitableness for ink transfer such as the smoothness' of running at the time of image printing, and enables a high-quality image rich in color clarity and density to be obtained by improving a filler to be contained in a heat-resistant lubricative layer formed on the opposite side to a thermally transferable coloring material layer, and thereby, giving the high lubricity and mold releasing properties. SOLUTION: A thermally transferable coloring material layer consisting of either of a sublimable dyeing ink layer or a thermally fusible ink layer or both layers, is formed on one of the surfaces of a base sheet, and on the other surface, a heat-resistant lubricative layer containing 1-20wt.% of compound microparticle of a fusion of, at least, one type of organic or inorganic microparticle with a grain size of 0.5-10μm, and at least, one type of organic or inorganic microparticle with a grain size of 0.01-5μm, is formed. |
