SUBSTANCE: invention concerns treatment of laundry and drinking water and may also find use in cleaning of natural (underground and surface) and waste waters from manganese and/or iron. Method involves passing water through filter charge, which is manganese ore (psilomelan) functioning simultaneously as catalyst for oxidation of both manganese and/or iron into sparingly soluble oxides.
