FIELD: printing industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed system is designed for processing piece articles, for instance, containers or printed matter. System includes conveyor transportation system with closed guide track system including switches and great number of transportation/fixing devices moved in one direction along guide track system irrespective from each other, and devices for charging articles or groups of articles delivered for processing into transportation/fixing devices, devices for processing articles or groups of articles, and devices for discharging articles from transportation/fixing devices. Each said device is furnished with incoming control means and storage area before device. Incoming control sets spatial orientation and time sequence of transportation/fixing devices or articles in compliance with requirements imposed by device. If necessary, transportation/fixing devices can be held in storage area before incoming control. Devices with corresponding incoming control means and switches are arranged separately or in groups in self-contained stations with intrastation control means which independently control functions of devices and their incoming control and/or operation of switches and transportation of transportation/fixing devices through station. Proposed processing system can include, in addition, central control unit generating command for setting short-time flow-through capacity of self-contained station in compliance with recorded values of degree charging of storage areas. System provides complete automation and possibility of manual operation and easy adaptability to different articles to be processed and different spatial conditions.
