FIELD: water treatment, in particular, production of potable water. SUBSTANCE: method involves ozonizing water and passing through sorbent layer, such as activated coal in the form of ground particles and/or mixture of said particles with ion-exchange resin, with sorbent layer being divided into two parts, through which water to be purified is sequentially passed; ozonizing water immediately in sorbent part first with respect to course of water flow during passage of water through said first part of sorbent. Apparatus has contacting chamber filter filled with sorbent connected through gas supply pipe to ozonizer, and ozone disperser. Filter is arranged inside contacting chamber. Space between filter side walls is filled with sorbent. Lower part of filter, where ozone disperser is arranged, is communicated with lower part of contacting chamber. Apparatus of such construction may be also used as domestic equipment for additional purifying of municipal water. Apparatus provides for keeping of purifying depth even at breaking-through of highly concentrated hazardous substances. EFFECT: compact construction, increased efficiency in ozonizing of potable water, increased absorbing capacity of sorbent, useful employment of apparatus volume, convenient usage, increased purifying extent and reduced cost of unit of purified water. 15 cl, 2 dwg, 1 ex |
