The engine has a W kinematic chain implementing two standard V6 engines overlapping one another and four cylinder heads (9). The first has cylinder heads towards the bottom and the second with cylinder heads to the top so as to offer a double cylinder head space per cylinder. The engine comprises two crankshafts (10,11) located one above the other.
