In a photoresist coating which includes polyvinyl pyrrolidone and polyvinyl alcohol, applied to the inner surface of a glass video display panel, a copolymer of vinyl pyrrolidone-vinyl alcohol is added to the photoresist coating to allow the coating to be applied to the display panel as a thin film having a highly uniform thickness. Also claimed is a method for preparing a photoresist coating for use on an inner surface of a glass video display panel, and a cathode ray tube face plate which has the above coating.
