PURPOSE: A display device having a complete solid sealing structure and a fabricating method thereof are provided to enhance the reliability by removing a gap between an organic light emitting device and a sealing substrate. CONSTITUTION: A display unit includes a driving substrate and a sealing substrate. The driving substrate(11) includes a display area. The sealing substrate(21) is arranged in a side corresponding to the display area of the driving substrate. The driving substrate has a passivation layer(11c) for covering the display area and exposing an external connection area adjacent to the display area. An end face of the passivation layer is formed along a vertical plane including an end face of the sealing substrate which lies on the same side as the end face of the protective film lies.
