The system for displaying multimedia contents within a vehicle comprises: means (PS) for estimating the position of the vehicle (VH); a memory arranged to stock a number of multimedia contents, which can be addressed as a function of the vehicle position; a content selection module which selects content dependent on position; and a display monitor. Communication means are also provided for automatic updating of the multimedia content and means for arranging the multimedia content so that it is automatically sequentially displayed. An Independent claim is made for a method for transmitting multimedia content that is to be displayed in a vehicle.
