The press for gluing several planks of wood (10) in order to make wood panels comprises a rectangular frame (1) supported by four legs (2). The frame supports on its lateral sides (11) the ends of two rails (3,4) supporting the wood planks. Each rail is parallel to the frame transverse sides (12). There are pressure means (7,8,9) which exert a pressure on the wood planks in three orthogonal directions, parallel to the transverse sides, vertical downwards and parallel to the lateral sides. Each vertical pressure means (8) can be displaced over the whole surface of the wood planks. An Independent claim is included for a method of making wooden panels from wood planks.
