The winding setting tool clamps the ends of the windings that are to be welded and has circumferential blocks formed by cam-shaped wedges (19) which are rotated (13, 13') to allow insertion of winding ends then rotated to clamp pairs of winding ends (9a-d) in the position where they are to be welded.
