PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to reduction of total color material cost including remaining color material and reference color material by controlling mix proportion data briefer than the conventional method, utilizing CCM in respect of stock management of remaining color and facilitating digitization. SOLUTION: The color matching method comprises a process for obtaining mix proportion of target color and remaining color material, a process for selecting the remaining color material, a process for determining a mixed quantity of reference color materials from mix proportion of the target color, mix proportion of remaining color material, correction coefficient, target color formation quantity, and remaining color material mixed quantity, and a toning process. In the provided color matching method, the correction coefficient is updated through the process for updating the correction coefficient by using a production error obtained as the results for a preceding target color in the process for obtaining the production error between the mix proportion in the mix proportion obtaining process and that obtained by color measurement.
