PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the assembly of a proximity sensor made by integrally housing sensor components, such as a detection coil, a signal processing circuit, and a plug-corresponding connector, these being connected to each other, in a tubular outer envelope case. SOLUTION: The connector comprises a conductor terminal assembly 5 and a tubular hold member 6. The assembly 5 has a plug-corresponding conductor terminal 51 electrically connected to a circuit assembly and a pin holder 50 for holding the conductor terminal, and has a size insertable into the outer envelope case 1 from the front end side thereof. The hold member 6 has openings in both ends thereof into which the terminal assembly 5 is inserted while it is provided with a joint part in its interior for positioning the terminal assembly 5 at itself, and is attached to the envelope case 1 from the rear end side thereof. In addition, a detection coil assembly 20 and the conductor terminal assembly 50 are electrically connected to each other with a flexible connection member 3 interposed between them.
