PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording device which suppresses recording performance deterioration immediately after recording start due to contraction of a magnetic head element under a low-temperature environment, and guarantees stable recording performance irrespective of an ambient temperature. SOLUTION: After a first data recording command is received from a host device, second data recorded in the same track of a data area in which information is recorded is read to be stored in a memory. After pseudo data is recorded in the data area of the track, the first and second data stored in the memory are recorded. Thus, a magnetic disk device for car navigation or the like which requires a stable operation at a low temperature is provided at a low cost. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
