PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save the contents of a general register and a control register in main storage at high speed when an interrupt occurs in a processor having no data path and instruction set for directly transferring the contents of a control register group to the main storage. SOLUTION: When an interrupt such as an arithmetic exception interrupt occurs in an operation unit 6, an instruction control part 4 stops the instruction issue control to wait for the completion of an instruction in process in an instruction pipeline so that the state in the processor is in the static status. The control for saving the contents of a scalar register (the general register) group 1 in the main storage 5 and the control for saving the contents of the control register group 3 in a renaming register group 2 are concurrently performed, and after the completion of saving the contents of the general register group 1, quickly the control for saving the contents of the control register group 3 on the renaming register group 2 in the main storage 5 is performed.
