PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crank angle discrimination device capable of accurately discriminating a crank angle by a simple structure. SOLUTION: One cog missing part 29a is formed before a projection 25a corresponding to TDCs of cylinders 1 and 6, and two continuous cog missing parts 29b, 29c are formed before a projection 25b corresponding to TDCs of cylinders 2 and 5 on a crank side disk 23 fixed on a crank shaft 20. An ignition cylinder is discriminated by counting continuous numbers of the cog missing parts 29 via an electromagnetic pick-up type crank shaft sensor 21. Consequently, a crank angle can be accurately discriminated regardless of the fluctuation of an engine speed. The cog missing part does not exist near a projection 25c corresponding to TDCs of cylinders 3, 4 and TDCs are discriminated based on rotation fluctuation. Consequently, an ignition cylinder can be discriminated without the cog missing part 29. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
