PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding shock-absorbing member formed of corrugated fiberboard (an edge guard and a corner guard) having sufficient shock-absorbing capacity even when used for a heavy material such as a door and a panel. SOLUTION: An edge guard is a shock-absorbing member which is formed by folding and assembling a corrugated fiberboard, and comprises a body of substantially U-shaped section and a columnar shock-absorbing part 32 of square section provided on a closing side of the body. A holding part 31 on an opening side of the body holds an edge of an article to be protected, and the shock-absorbing part 32 protects the edge. Beam parts 11 alternately provided on the diagonals in the longitudinal direction are provided on the shock-absorbing part 32. Even when something hits the article from the outside (or the article to be protected is hit by something), the shock-absorbing part 32 sufficiently mitigates the shock to protect the edge (and external stuff).
