PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument panel capable of facilitating attachment to an area having a complex shape without setting up an attachment seat in an inner portion of the instrument panel and preventing breakage of the instrument panel by efficiently absorbing impact energy applied from an outer portion. SOLUTION: An impact absorbing body 21 formed by foaming a resin foaming body such as PP beads is charged in a gap formed by a heater and a control unit 14 for setting an air conditioner attached at a center console 12 of the instrument panel, and an inner wall surface of the center console 12. The impact absorbing body 21 is formed into a shape fitted to the gap part because it is formed in the resin foaming body, the impact energy applied from the outer part to the instrument panel can be efficiently absorbed by self-deformation, thus the breakage of the instrument panel can be prevented. Furthermore, the impact absorbing body 21 can be fixed using adhesive or the like, thus realizing high assemblability. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
