<p>The present invention relates to a process and apparatus for producing a combustible gas by chemically cracking plant materials. It is designed to more sufficiently use the plant materials. It is characterized by charging crushed plant materials to a reaction vessel, extracting a effective ingredient by liquid-solid leaching or gas-solid extracting in the same vessel, then adding a alkaline compound in a mass ratio of 1-10% to the reaction vessel, and chemically cracking at 200-900 deg. C and 1-10 atm. under air-free condition to form a low molecular weight combustible gas. The present invention provide also apparatus for producing the combustible gas, which has advantages such as simplicity, easiness for practicing, and good economic benefit etc., suitable for use in the production of a fuel gas.</p> |
