ANODE MATERIAL AND BATTERY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery of high capacity and excellent charge/discharge characteristics.

SOLUTION: A positive electrode 12 housed in an outer package can 11 and a negative electrode 14 housed in an outer package cup 13 are laminated with an interposition of a separator 15. The separator 15 is impregnated with an electrolyte liquid containing lithium salt dissolved in a solvent. The negative electrode 14 contains a tin-containing compound containing metallic tin and an intermetallic compound containing tin within one particle. By the tin-containing compound, a high capacity and an excellent charge/discharge cycle are obtained.
