LAMINATED POROUS BODY, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated porous body excellent in oxidation resistance and alkali corrosion resistance, and suppressive in the decrease of strength under a high temperature alkali atmosphere, and to provide its manufacturing method and a filter.

SOLUTION: The laminated porous body is provided with a porous carbonized material having a 3-dimensional mesh like structure, an oxidation resistant coating film (for example, composed of silicon carbide or the like) formed on the surface of the porous carbonized material and an alkali corrosion resistant layer (for example, alumina or the like) formed on the surface of the oxidation resistant coating film. The filter is composed of the laminated porous body. The laminated porous body is manufactured by a process for forming the oxidation resistant coating film on the surface of the porous carbonized material and a process for forming the alkali corrosion resistant layer on the surface of the oxidation corrosion resistant coating film by a vapor phase reaction. The oxidation resistant coating film is preferably formed by the chemical vapor deposition method. Further a process for removing at least a part of the porous carbonized material by heating can be provided after the oxidation resistant coating film or the alkali corrosion resistant film is formed.
