PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystalline organic salt of amlodipine, used as an antihypertensive having calcium channel blocking activity. SOLUTION: This new crystalline organic salt of the amlodipine having excellent physicochemical characteristics, a method for producing the same, and a pharmaceutical composition containing the same are provided, respectively. Crystalline amlodipine adipate has the excellent physicochemical characteristics (nonhygroscopicity, stability, solubility, and processability) and has, especially, excellent light stability. Therefore, the crystalline amlodipine adipate is easily carried by a patient and stored for a long period. Further, the amlodipine adipate is industrially advantageous, because adipic acid exhibits no corrosivity, nor harmfulness, nor moisture absorption and, therefore, is easily handled, when compared with benzenesulfonic acid which is used in producing amlodipine besylate.
