PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the hanging-down and deformation of a film and to carry out the film gripping by clips with certainty. SOLUTION: At a tenter entrance 17 of a tenter apparatus 4, pairs of nip rollers 31 are installed on the right and left sides. In the span of the tenter entrance 17 to film gripping positions PA, there are installed lower guide rollers 32a-32i, a right film guide 33, and a left film guide 34. At the position opposite to the guide roller 32i, an upper guide roller 36 is installed. The pairs of nip rollers 31, which are each composed of an upper roller 31a and a lower roller 31b, nip and convey a PVA film 6, and give a tension to both width directions. Each lower guide roller 32a-32i conveys in contact with a lower surface 6b. The left and right film guides 33, 34 guide both side edges of the PVA film 6.
