PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically provide a smoking filter showing excellent filtration performance and maintaining the degradation rate in environment at almost the same level as that of the starting cellulose material. SOLUTION: This filter is constituted with a paper-like material containing 25-75 wt% of cellulose fiber that is finely divided by the highly viscous beating treatment and 75-25 wt.% of wood pulp.
