This invention relates to a process for preparing a strontium titanate powder. The process involves reacting a solution containing Ti<4+> and a solution containing Sr<2+> with an alkali solution or a mixed solution containing Ti<4+> and Sr<2+> with an alkali solution in an extra gravity field device at about 60°C to about 100°C. The strontium titanate powder made by the process of the invention has a small average particle size, narrow size distribution, integrated crystal form, and grobal form. It can be used as raw materials for dielectric, piezoelectric, voltage withstand-ing, sensitive ceramics and other ceramics. Furthermore, the process of the invention for preparing a strontium titanate powder in the extra gravity field device can be used for continuous preparation of a strontium titanate powder.
