Method for selecting a spot- or flood light using an interactive photometric calculator (1) with selection fields (3, 41-43) for selection of device specific data, especially a lamp head, optical medium, etc. and input and setting fields (7, 9, 81, 82) for input of technical light data, such as light intensity and the distance between the flood light and an object to be illuminated. Output fields (5, 6, 10) are provided for alphanumerical and graphical output. An Independent claim is made for a dialogue screen for a use in selecting flood lights.
