<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the presence of toner inside all toner cartridges without providing a reserve tank and a residue detection sensor respectively for every toner cartridge in a developer supply device for an electrophotographic type copying machine, printer or the like. <P>SOLUTION: Two adjacent units of cartridge attaching members 4k and 6k to which a developer cartridge Kk ejecting developer from a supply opening 44k is loaded, one unit of a reserve tank H2k into which the developer ejected from each supply opening of a first cartridge and a second cartridge is flown in, a developer carrying member carrying the developer which is ejected from a feeding opening of the reserve tank H2k to a developing device and one unit of stored quantity sensor detecting whether or not the stored quantity of the developer inside the reserve tank H2k is more than a given quantity are provided in the developer supply device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
