PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of managing the authenticity of an electronic document and a print medium of the electronic document. SOLUTION: The method of managing authenticity of the electronic document and the print medium of the electronic document includes the steps of: recognizing image data included in the electronic document; calculating a coordinate set corresponding to pixels or a pixel set which characterizes the image by applying a predetermined condition of extracting the image features which are to be noted; recognizing the coordinate values corresponding to respective coordinates constituting the coordinate set and at least the coordinate values of the pixel color values, and embedding the identified values into the pixels, pixel set, or their vicinity as a digital watermark code; and outputting the electronic document on which the digital watermark is embedded to the print medium.
