<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for machining a roller surface in which ruggedness is formed at random on the roller surface by using laser beams, and an emboss roller manufactured by the method. <P>SOLUTION: A roller 14 is rotated at a predetermined speed by a rotating device 16, and a laser beam irradiation apparatus 12 is moved at a predetermined speed in the axial direction of the roller 14 by a reciprocating device 18. A roller surface is irradiated with pulse laser beams of the predetermined frequency from the laser beam irradiation apparatus 12, and an irradiation point 80 of the pulse laser beams irradiated from the laser beam irradiation apparatus 12 is moved irregularly by an irregular motion device 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
