PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and optically couple an optical fiber and an optical semiconductor element with each other and to easily and airtightly seal a package for optical semiconductor element storage at an optical fiber introduction part of a frame. SOLUTION: The package for optical semiconductor element storage has a substrate 1 having a mount part 1a for the optical semiconductor element 7 on its top surface and the frame 2 which is fitted to the top surface of the substrate 1 while surrounding the mount part 1a and has an optical fiber introduction part 2c and formed of a nearly U-sectioned groove for soldering to the top surface of a side part through an optical fiber 8, and also has a cover 9 soldered to the top surface; and the substrate 1 and frame 2 have their exposed surfaces coated with gold plating layers nearly entirely and non-formation parts 2d of the gold plating layer which are of 0.1 to 0.5 mm in width (d) along the thickness of the frame body and 0.1 to 14 mm in length (c) along the inner circumferential edge of the frame are provided at positions on the top surface of the frame 2 on both sides of the optical fiber introduction part 2c along the inner circumferential edge of the frame 2.
