PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame which holds a sheet material taut and can be used, for example, in the electrolytic treatment of the surface of a metal sheers. SOLUTION: The frame is used for holding a sheet material taut comprises a support and two leg parts which extend essentially parallel to each other transversely from the support. Each leg part is provided with a fixing means for fixing each one of both end parts of a piece of sheet material thereto. At least the one leg part can be moved along the support towards and away from the other end part. Further, a compensation means is provided for compensating the stretch and/or shrinkage of the piece of sheet metal material fixed between the leg parts. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
