PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trimming device and a trimming method for a steel sheet reducing burr in shearing the steel sheet by dispensing with a complicated clearance adjusting mechanism and a strict management of the clearance. SOLUTION: This trimming device for the steel sheet shearing the steel sheet by a pair of rotating round blades and applies the ultrasonic vibration to the round blades. Preferably, the ultrasonic vibration is applied to the shaft end supporting the round blades so as to transmit the ultrasonic vibration to the round blades. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
