PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding joint for welding a thick-walled member. SOLUTION: In a welding joint to perform butt-welding of a contact portion of a face of a first base metal 1 and an end face of a second base metal 2, the butt welding of the contact portion of the first base metal 1 and the second base metal 2 is performed by a first weld portion 7 formed by melting the contact portion by the arc of a welding wire facing a first groove formed on one side of the contact portion in the second base metal 2, and pushing the molten metal to the side opposite to the weld side and a second weld portion 8 by melting and welding the contact portion on the second groove side and a part of the first weld portion 7 by the arc of the welding wire facing the second groove formed on the other side of the contact portion in the second base metal 2.
