COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR BLEACHING A SUBSTRATE

A method of bleaching a stained textile comprises the following steps : I) adding a unit duse of a bleaching composition comprising 0.0005 wt % iodine or a sowce thereof, and the balance carriers and adjunct ingredients to an acqueous medium, thereby providing an aqueous bleaching environment ; II) contacting the textile with the aqueous iodine bleaching environment ; III) rinsing the textile with water ; and, IV) drying the textile.
