<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an opening part for a discharge tray to be large, and to simplify structure for positioning an image reader and fitting it to an image forming apparatus main body to thereby facilitate the work of attachment/detachment of the image reader in the image forming apparatus in which the image reader is situated on the apparatus main body. <P>SOLUTION: A front side support 21 and a back side support 23 are vertically installed on an apparatus main body 2 of the image forming apparatus. Reinforcing beam members 22 and 24 are fixed on them. A top plate member 30 is fixed and fitted on them. Recessed parts 35 corresponding to leg members of the image reader and pin members 36 inserted into pin holes made in a base plate are formed in the top plate member 30. The image reader is mounted on the top plate member 30 and the small number of screws are mounted. Consequently, the image reader 10 can easily positioned and fixed onto a support member 20, and the work of attachment/detachment of the image reader can easily be performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
