PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for extracting the name of an organization from a string of morphemes. SOLUTION: A morpheme analyzing part 11 consults a morpheme analysis dictionary 16 to divide an input Japanese text into morphemes and impart grammatical information. A feature imparting part 12 consults a chunking dictionary 17 to give a feature for use in chunking to corresponding morphemes. A chunking part 13 uses the chunking dictionary 17 to perform chunking for the name of an organization, etc. An organization name extracting part 14 extracts as the name of the organization a series of strings of morphemes to which the feature of the name of the organization is allocated by the chunking part 13.
