PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a text sentence comparing device for highly accurately comparing text sentences in a real time. SOLUTION: Text sentences to be compared are expressed with trees having graph theoretical roots by a tree expressing means 4, and each vertex of the tree expressed by the tree expressing means 4 is applied with information based on the text sentence by a vertex information applying means 4, and a distance between the tress based on a correspondence relation between the vertexes is defined by an inter-tree distance defining means 8. The inter-tree distance defined by an inter-tree distance defining means 8 is obtained by an inter-tree distance acquiring means 8 concerning the trees of the text sentence to be compared, and the inter-tree distance is applied to a distance indicating an inter-text sentence difference by an inter-tree distance applying means 9, and the distance between the text sentences to be compared is obtained by the inter-tree distance acquiring means 9 based on the application by the inter-tree distance applying means 9.
