PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for using a stopper to regulate a closing operation by mounting the stopper on the tail gate for a vehicle without damaging the tail gate. SOLUTION: This stopper structure is constituted of a cylinder 54 for connecting an open stay 42 to a tail gate body 45 side and a rod 55 slidably mounted on the cylinder 54 and connected to a vehicle body 11 side. The semicylindrical stopper 43 for preventing the cylinder 54 from shrinking can be fitted between a rod connecting part 67 of the rod 55 and a rod side end face 61 of the cylinder 54 when making the tail gate body 45 into an open state. A tapered part 72 spreading toward one end part 71 is provided at least at the one end part 71 of the stopper 43. The tapered part 72 is abutted on the rod connecting part 67. By this constitution, the tapered part 72 is pushed by the rod connecting part 67, the semicylindrical stopper 43 is opened and the stopper 43 can be removed from the rod 55 when applying unexpected force to the tail gate body 45.
