<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect an origin in raising and lowering operations of component holding members each capable of holding a component and to suppress manufacturing cost to a low level with a simple constitution in a component mounting head in which a plurality of the component holding members each are arranged in one row. <P>SOLUTION: A method for detecting the origin in the component mounting head includes the steps of setting the origin of raising and lowering of a raising/lowering nut by detecting a rotary angle of a rotary driver in the raising/lowering unit, sequentially individually lowering the raising/lowering nut in a state in which the nut is disposed at the origin set so that a light emitted from a light emitting unit is photodetected by a photodetecting unit without being shielded, detecting light shielding by the lowered nut emitted by the light from the emitting unit by the photodetector at a position where the nut is lowered by a predetermined size of light shielding from the set origin, confirming that the set origin is on the origin of raising or lowering, and thereby detecting the origin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
