PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an authentication system capable of guaranteeing safety unless all of a plurality of arbitrators which are provided perform unauthorized acts, without depending on the assumption of any difficulty in complexity. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a multi-dimensional space generating section 101 for generating a multi-dimensional space defined by a multi-dimensional arrangement; a transmitter secret information issuing section 102 for generating an authentication space having an arbitrary range in the multi-dimensional space, and issuing the authentication space for a transmitter terminal 10 as transmitter secret information; a receiver secret information issuing section 104 for issuing receiver secret information, an arbitrary point on the authentication space, to a receiver terminal 20; an authentication line generating section 105 for generating an authentication line, a straight line, or a curve not crossing the authentication space in the multi-dimensional space; an authentication-provided data generating means 11 for selecting an authenticator s, an arbitrary point on the authentication line, and generating data m with an authenticator on the basis of this authenticator and the transmitter secret information; and a receiver authentication section 22 for collating the authenticator s extracted from the data m with the receiver secret information to perform authentication.
