PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the flow of air causing the fluctuation of scanning light with a simple mechanism and without causing a deterioration in maintainability. SOLUTION: The image information reader is equipped with a pair of wall bodies 40a and 40b provided to protrude in a direction almost horizontal to a vertical transport path 24 and preventing the fluctuation of a laser beam with which a stimulable phosphor sheet 17 is irradiated from an exciting optical system 62 by restraining the flow of the air produced by a temperature difference in a reader main body, and brush members 42 each installed at the edge parts of the wall bodies 40a and 40b and having a destaticizing function.
