PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily forming a porous metal with an optional shape. SOLUTION: The method for producing a porous metal comprises a stage (1) where electrolytic oxidation is carried out to obtain porous aluminum; a stage (2) where a metal is filled into the gaps of the porous aluminum to obtain a composite consisting of the porous aluminum and the metal; and a stage (3) where the porous aluminum is removed from the composite.
