PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid composition or the like for oral cavities, capable of suppressing the adhesion or proliferation of bacteria on tooth surfaces, capable of effectively suppressing the turbidity due to the deposition of components and the weight reduction due to the adsorption of effective components over a long period, ensuring no deterioration in quality/performance and having excellent preservation stability. SOLUTION: The liquid composition for the oral cavity contains shellac and its pH is not less than 4 and less than 7. Desirable embodiments are an embodiment in which a bactericide and an ionizing agent which ionizes the bactericide, an embodiment in which≤0.01 mass% shellac is contained, an embodiment in which a surfactant whose HLB value is not less than 12.5 and a surfactant whose HLB value is not more than 12.5 are contained, and the like. The liquid composition for the oral cavities contains the shellac, the bactericide and the ionizing agent which ionizes the bactericide. The liquid composition for the oral cavity contains≤0.01 mass% shellac.
