PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device more effective for separating opposed tight contact sheets than a conventional sheet carrying system, a sheet carrying method, and an image forming device. SOLUTION: A sheet carrying direction side of an uppermost sheet is pressed by a presser means from a top of an uppermost sheet, and an uppermost sheet is transferred from loaded sheets in a sheet carrying direction under a condition that the uppermost sheet is pressed, so as to generate deflection at the uppermost sheet. When the deflection at the uppermost sheet is dimensioned efficient for separating the uppermost sheet from the other sheet, the presser means is released. Only the uppermost sheet is surely separated from the loaded sheets, and carried in a sheet carrying direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
