A disk cartridge where a plate-holding member for holding a chuck plate on an upper shell can be eliminated. A chuck plate (5) is placed on the center upper part of a disk (4) so as to be moved up and down with the disk (4)without requiring an upper shell (2) to support the chuck plate (5) that chucks the disk (4) on a turntable (41) of a spindle motor. An outer periphery cylinder-like rib (6) as positioning means for limiting a movement amount in the radial direction of the chuck plate (5) is integrally formed on the lower face of the upper shell (2). The rib is provided so as to be in non-contact with the disk (4) and limits the movement amount while allowing the chuck plate (5) to move up and down.
